FOOSBALL WEBRINGS:
WebRings are where related subject web sites have banded together to form
their sites into linked circles. Through navigation links found most often
at the bottom of WebRing member pages, you can travel to all or any of
the sites in a Ring. You can navigate through a Ring by going to the next
or previous site, or list the next or previous five sites in the Ring.
You can also jump to a random site in the Ring, or survey all the sites
that make up the Ring.
FOOSBALL NEWSGROUPS/MESSAGE
BOARDS/LISTSERVERS/CHATROOMS:
Note: These are public message "forums" players can use to discuss
foosball with each other.
Newsgroups: These Internet
Usenet groups are like bulletin boards, where people can leave ("post")
messages and others can "post" responses, with both message
and responses staying on the newsgroup for up to a month or so. You must
have your newsreader software configured to access newsgroups (unless
you access web-based archives of their messages, such as Deja.com or Remarq.com
listed below).
- Rec.Sport.Table-Soccer
- The primary Usenet newsgroup for foosers to discuss foosball with
each other.
- Deja.com
- Provides a web-based archive (back to early 1995) of most of the
messages posted in the Usenet newsgroups (including Rec.Sport.Table-Soccer
and Alt.Sport.Foosball) that are no longer available in the newsgroups
themselves (Usenet newsgroup messages are automatically deleted off
the newsgroup after a period of time). To go directly to the Deja.com
archive for the 2 Usenet newsgroups, click on rec.sport.table-soccer
Deja archive, or alt.sport.foosball
Deja archive (Note, only recent messages will be displayed. To
go back further in the archive you must use the "Power Search"
feature, from which you can also search for messages by various parameters
such as date range, author, subject, text keyword, etc.). In addition,
you can also "subscribe" to the foosball newsgroups from
Deja.com, which will automatically e-mail you a "Daily Digest"
report containing all of the messages posted to the newsgroup each
day. Also, at the Deja.com home page, you can type in a word like
"foosball" in the "Search Keywords" blank field
and click on "find" to search ALL the Usenet newsgroups
(not just the 2 listed above) for foosball related messages. Deja.com
also allows you to post messages/replies to the newsgroup (but you
must join Deja.com to do that).
- Remarq.com - Another
web-based newsgroup archive, similar to Deja.com above (except the
archive doesn't go back as far as Deja's). However, it presents the
messages in the newsgroups differently than Deja.com does. When you
click on the message subject (thread), all of the messages in
that thread, including their text, is displayed as one big message
string (on Deja you must click on each individual message to open
and read it). If you want to go directly to the 2 main Usenet
foosball related newsgroups (rec.sport.table-soccer and alt.sport.foosball)
archived on Remarq, click here.
Like Deja.com, the Remarq.com home page also allows you to search
across ALL Usenet newsgroup (not just rec.sport.table-soccer and alt.sport.foosball)
for messages containing a keyword, like "foosball". Remarq.com
also allows you to post messages/replies to the newsgroup (but you
must join Remarq.com to do that).
Message Boards:
These work similar to newsgroups, except that they are Web-based so that
you don't need newsreader software to access them.

grouped by dates, for easy use. It also includes a search feature
that allows you to search for keywords in the message, title, or sender.
Listservers: These

e-mail (you must "subscribe" to the listserver to start getting
the messages and replies).
