Alan Cribbs (1/18/05 4:06 pm) Tournament Results: 2005 Florida State Table-Soccer Championships Players Grille and Sports Bar Orange Park. Florida $4000 in Cash, prizes and trophies Registered Participants: 75 (27 Parents and children) The highlight of the tournament had to be the Parent/Child event held on Friday night. Absolutely the most amazing amount of fun to open a big tournament. One of the slogans we have pushed to the forefront has been "Keeping the families together through competiton." Every child got a Bonzini prize package that participated. Please go to www.jacksonvilletablesoccer.com to veiw these pictures. Check out the intense look on even the youngest players. Really cool event that warrants more attention in the future. We had a surprise visitor from the old TS tour and I do believe she is a past World Champion; Maggie Tosalino. I got to talk with her for a while during the kids events. Her last name has changed and we lost contact as the tournament went on. I hope to see her at a future Bonzini U.S.A. Florida event. Looked like she was itching to play. Maggie was a feature player on a show called "Games People Play". She and Doug Furry battled it out in a game of singles on National TV back in the early 80's. Doug beat her on match ball doing an outside wall 5-bar bank shot. Memory pills working well for now. Also, another blast from the past. We had a surprise visit from Mr. Bobby Hicks, a legendary goalie from the late 70's and early 80's on Rene Pierre tables. I was fortunate to team up with Mr. Hicks and participate in Open Doubles. Even though my personal performance was lack luster, I really felt rewarded by having these 2 people to attend and visit with us. Great job from the Cape Fear Hurricanes Foosball Team. You guys looked really professional in your dress and your sportsmanship. Both I think attributed to the hardware your team took home. Nice Triple for Dallas Corbett from Columbia, SC.
