It's that time again! This weekend is the 51st Annual VA State Foosball Championships, hosted by the guys with the Virgina Beach Foosballers. The event will be held at Peabody's in Virginia Beach, VA on November 3rd-6th, 2022 and will feature Open, Pro, Expert, Amateur, Rookie, and Women's events. Handicap will be applied to Goalie Wars and No 5 Man Foos. There will be $7,500 in cash, prizes, and awards up for grabs for winners. Players from all levels of experience will have a chance to win.
The VA State Championship is known as the first large French-style foosball tournament to take place in the east coast, with the first tournament occurring back in 1971. The tournament hosts the Cribbs Cup, introduced last year. Alan and Gloria Cribbs, original owners of Bonzini USA, are like the godfather and mother of French-style foosball in the United States east coast. They were key in encouraging players who love the game to appreciate the challenge that the Bonzini-style adds to the play and keeping it going for over 20 years . Winners of the Virginia State Championship will have their name inscribed at the bottom of the Cribbs Cup Trophy.
A special mention goes to James Neal, director of the 2022 VA State Foosball Championships. His efforts, with the help of his assistant Bryan Zenarolla, were instrumental in making sure this weekend is filled with foosball, fun, and a healthy dose of competition! If you aren't registered to compete, but will be in the area, feel free to stop by and support what the guys have done to make this weekend awesome. Maybe you could learn a thing or two from the pros! Also, Bill Mitchell, owner of Bonzini USA, will be there with parts, t-shirts, and more Bonzini gear. Go check him out and ask about our current promotions and discounts. See you there!
